In December 2002, Bishop Todd L. Fulton founded Mount Moriah Outreach Center in his home with three members: himself, Judith Fulton (his wife), and Mariah Fulton (his daughter). On February 2, 2003, at 11:00 am, 317 Jefferson Street became the birthplace of a young minister’s vision, and Sunday morning services were established at that location.

In January 2005, Mount Moriah secured the full lease of the church at 317 Jefferson Street, owned by Piney Grove Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC. The vision that Bishop Fulton had long carried in his spirit was at last brought forth and made real during the church’s inaugural service. The choir sang beloved songs of Zion — “Jesus is Mine,” “Come On Down Lord,” and “The Lord Is Blessing Me.” The initial message was delivered by Bishop Fulton, drawn from Luke 11:9–10 and entitled “God Still Answers Prayers.” Following the service, the congregation gathered in the fellowship hall in joyful celebration of the birth of this new ministry.

Just as a mother waits with anticipation and excitement to welcome her first child, many gathered alongside Pastor Fulton to witness the birth of Mount Moriah Outreach Center. And just as that mother expends great energy, care, and devotion in preparing for her child’s arrival — elated when all is complete — Pastor Fulton likewise prayed, fasted, and faithfully tended to the church with loving concern. He continues to do so with each passing day, month, and year, watching the church and its members grow and develop as a loving parent would.

On December 31, 2009, Mount Moriah entered new territory when the church building at 317 Jefferson Street was purchased from Piney Grove Baptist Church, along with a rental property and four acres of surrounding land.

The landscape continues to change as God brings forth new things through people with a mind to work. Mount Moriah remains steadfast in its mission — reaching the unchurched and unsaved, and developing them physically, financially, and spiritually for the Body of Christ.
